Congresswoman Virginia Foxx and Staff Visit the Center for Leadership and Character

On Friday, April 20th, 2018, the Center for Leadership and Character hosted U.S. Representative for North Carolina’s 5th Congressional District, Virginia Foxx and her staff at Wake Forest School of Business for a yearly team retreat and leadership workshop.

Foxx is a member of the Republican party and served as Secretary of the House Republican Conference from January 2013 to January 2017. Currently, she is the Chair of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

The workshop provided the team the opportunity to revisit organizational mission, vision, and values, and refine goals. The team also developed personal and team action plans for enhancing leadership including communication and deepening service to constituents.

Using information from the proprietary Leadership and Character Assessment (LCA), the Foxx staff brainstormed ideas for achieving shared goals and developing both on the personal and on the organizational level. Through collaborative activities, the diverse team gained valuable knowledge about the work of the different offices and how all can work together to better enable success with the organizational mission.
