First Responders Appreciation Lunch

Friday, April 21st, School of Business staff, faculty, and students practiced Pro Humanitate for first responders that serve Wake Forest University. With the help of various community businesses, we were able to provide an appreciation lunch for several hundred from Wake Campus Police, WSPD, and WSFD.
Michelle Kennedy, Meteorologist for WXII, Coach Dave Clawson, Head Football Coach for WFU and The Deacon helped encourage those who serve Wake Forest every day by joining them for conversation and lunch. Lanie Pope, Chief Meteorologist for WXII and Outstanding Woman Leader recipient, shared how encouraged she was.  She indicated she would be proud for her soon-to-be-college student to be participating in and experiencing this type of servant leadership. Half a dozen School of Business students greeted attendees and handed out 138 handwritten thank you notes.
One of the many thanks-yous came from an officer from WSPD expressing his deepest gratitude for the recognition. Another officer said he was so grateful for the thoughtfulness from the school.
