On Feburary 21st and 22nd, 2019, Business Data Analytics and Religion Double Major, Morgan Briggs ’20 and Business and Enterprise Management Major, Christine Pangborn ‘20, attended the United States Air Force Academy National Character and Leadership Symposium in Colorado. This year’s theme focused on “Leadership, Teamwork, and Organizational Management.” The symposium gave the students a chance to meet and talk with Air Force cadets while learning from the experiences of military and business leaders.
Christine Pangborn explained, “Throughout the conference, the importance of attitude was heavily emphasized. As a leader, the attitude you portray is reflected by your coworkers. If you enjoy your work, so will those around you. By humanizing your employees and caring about their personal development, you create a richer environment for everyone.”
Morgan Briggs focused on how leaders are developed: “The mission of the United States Air Force Academy is to build leaders of character. This was apparent not only by how the cadets conducted themselves, but through the variety of leaders who consistently practice integrity and honor. The National Character and Leadership Symposium (NCLS) gives you tools to be an effective leader who develops personal relationships, gathers followers around a common mission and goal, and thinks ahead to make an impact.”
