Ann Johnston Named ACLC Executive Affiliate

The Allegacy Center for Leadership and Character is excited to announce that Ann Johnston will join the team as an Executive Affiliate.

In this capacity, Ms. Johnston will deepen her engagement with business school students. Her role will include a variety of activities including serving as a guest speaker across academic programs, leading student coaching sessions, acting as a mentor, and assisting the ACLC with strategic planning and program development.

Ms. Johnston brings a wealth of experience, having spent decades in human resources. Her early career included roles at Hanes Corporation and Wachovia Corporation. She joined R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1988, where she went on to work in all disciplines of Human Resources Management. She was integral to major corporate events, including the 1999 spin-off from RJR Nabisco and the 2004 merger with Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. Following the 2004 merger, she became Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer for Reynolds American, Inc., before retiring in 2008.

Today, Ms. Johnston is an active volunteer. She currently serves as Chair of the Board of Visitors for the Wake Forest School of Business, where she previously chaired the Alumni Council. She also serves on the boards of Allegacy Federal Credit Union and IFB Solutions.

Ms. Johnston is a graduate of Salem College and holds an MBA from Wake Forest University.
