John Sumanth, ACLC Research Associate, James Farr Faculty Fellow and Associate Professor of Management, and his co-author David Hofmann, of UNC-Chapel Hill, have recently learned that the Harvard Business Review will include their article “A Growth Strategy that Creates and Protects Value” in an upcoming special issue of the Harvard Business Review.
The article, which HBR originally published in April of 2024, explains that in order for organizations to grow, they must create new value while simultaneously protecting existing value. Value creation is achieved through innovation, risk-taking and experimentation, while the preservation of key responsibilities protects existing value. The authors lay out four steps leaders can take to achieve this necessary balance.
The special edition of HBR was published in February.
