Sean Hannah, Wilson chair in business ethics and professor of management, and his team have published research in Leadership Quarterly that explores the relationship between positive attitudes among workers and the effectiveness of authentic leaders. The research team focused on extreme contexts such as police and military organizations.
The research reinforced the established link between authentic leadership and the job performance of followers, while also demonstrating the mediating effects of positive emotion and leaders’ influence on followers’ psychological capital.
