The week of November 19-23, Professor Sean Hannah conducted a leadership speaking and research tour in Norway. This tour began with Dr. Hannah’s keynote address at a conference of 150 oil and shipping executives in Stavanger to speak about leadership during extreme contexts. The conference focused on leadership during crisis such as terrorist attacks on ships and oil facilities, including the recent hostage crisis at the oil facility at In Amenas in Algeria where attendees had employees taken hostage and some killed.
On November 21, Dr. Hannah gave a talk and workshop on leadership in dangerous contexts to the Norwegian Special Forces officers at the Norwegian Naval Academy in Bergen.
The following day, the University of Bergen welcomed Dr. Hannah as he gave a presentation on character-based leadership to psychology students.
The Norway tour concluded with the coordination of a set of joint research projects with a team of University of Bergen leadership researchers, led by Professor Jarle Eid, Dean of the School of Psychology, University of Bergen.
