ACLC scholars gathered with ACLC Executive Director Pat Sweeney, ACLC Executive in Residence Jeff Triplette, and ACLC Affiliate Adam Holtzschue to kick off the program with teambuilding activities at Graylyn Conference Center. This is the program’s inaugural cohort.
After introductions and an icebreaker, the team developed their unique definition of leadership: enabling, developing and inspiring others (with compassion, ethics and empathy) to achieve proven, shared results with integrity.
The scholars tested their communication, leadership and teamwork skills as they engaged in the Egg Drop and Sling Shot challenges guided by Graylyn Teambuilding Facilitator Patrick Cole.

Other activities included development of the team charter, debriefing communication styles based on DiSC Assessments, and an introduction to team projects. The scholars combined their creativity and AI to design a unique lapel pin for the ACLC Scholars Program.
The Allegacy Center for Leadership and Character Scholars Program is a year-long initiative created to accelerate the development of leaders of character who have a passion for elevating people, organizations and communities. ACLC Scholars will be provided co-curricular enrichment, business leader mentors, special guest speakers and team-based project learning.
