ACLC Scholars Program Presentation, Recognition and Year in Review

The inaugural class of ACLC Scholars presented their group project to program donors, faculty and guests on Friday, April 11. When selecting an organization to support with their project, the scholars chose A Bed and A Book, a non-profit that enriches the lives of children in our community, after hearing Mayor Allen Joines discuss his appreciation and respect for the organization at the first ACLC Scholars Enrichment Session in October.

The project culminated in the formation of a club, the A Bed and A Book Club, so that the inaugural class can pass the torch to future students and create ongoing support for the organization for years to come. The Director of A Bed and A Book, Anneliese Wall, attended the lunch and presentation. “It moved me to tears,” she said. “I’m just so honored and excited, and grateful on behalf of all the children we’re going to serve.”
