In the spirit of pro-humanitate, the Allegacy Center for Leadership and Character along with our partners from Allegacy Federal Credit Union joined forces at the Second Harvest Food Bank to sort and package non-perishable items. Each day, SHFB moves 40+ tons of food through the warehouse and out to over 515 partner programs to help provide healthy food to families and communities from northwest North Carolina. On October 20, 2022, our team of volunteers sorted and packaged 5,960 lbs of food … the equivalent of 4,967 meals. Second Harvest Food Bank has over 6,000 volunteers annually with 35,000+ combined service hours that fill the need for over 20 additional staff members. Our time, energy, and efforts at SHFB made for a fun afternoon of servant leadership.
