On Thursday, February 20, the school of business students, staff and faculty participated in the 2nd Annual Soup for the Soul Crock-off in the Founders Living Room at Farrell Hall. Crock pots of soup, stew and chili were made as a friendly competition, along with numerous cakes, cookies, and desserts, all for a great cause: supporting one of our own. Donations were accepted for the sale of soup bowls and desserts and were directed to the Melissa Clark Children’s Fund.
Melissa Clark was a beloved staff colleague in the school of business who lost her battle with cancer in December 2013. Melissa left behind a husband and two young children.
On Tuesday, February 25 at noon, Pat Sweeney will facilitate a discussion on Leading With Compassion. This discussion will ask students, faculty and staff participants to reflect following benefit event.
These opportunities provide examples of the University’s motto of pro humanitate (for humanity) in action.
Contributions to the Melissa Clark Children’s Fund can be made at any Wells Fargo branch.
