The ACLC is proud to introduce the Allegacy Center for Leadership and Character Scholars Program, a year-long initiative developed to accelerate the development of leaders of character who have a passion for elevating people, organizations, and communities.
Recipients are expected to gain enhanced development of leadership mindsets and skills, greater self-awareness, fuller understanding of the leader development process, a greater appreciation for coaching and mentorship, the opportunity to establish a leader network, make significant contributions to the enhancement of community through the student project, and the potential for exposure to future job opportunities.
The Inaugural Class of ACLC Scholars include:
Isra Al Hashimi – MSBA
Isra graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Enterprise Management, concentration in International Business, and a double minor in Global Trade and Commerce and Anthropology. She maintained Dean’s list honors during all semesters of her undergraduate studies, and gained international experience during a study abroad in Barcelona in the spring of 2023 and an internship in the Maldives in the summer of 2023. Her Leadership experience includes serving as Curator for TEDxAlilam Youth, and interning with the Cultural Division of the Embassy of Oman in the U.S.

Nasra Deria – MSM
Nasra earned a degree in Psychology from Wake Forest University with relevant coursework in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Research Methods in Psychology I and II, Environmental Risk and Crisis Communication. Earning Dean’s list honors from 2020-2023, her Leadership experience includes serving as a Wake Forest University President’s Aide, a Laboratory Researcher, and Black Student Alliance Vice President.
Leighton Joy – MSA
Leighton earned a Bachelor of Accounting and Business Administration from Gonzaga University with a concentration in Management Information Systems. Earning President’s List and Dean’s List honors, Leighton competed as a Division 1 student-athlete in Track and Field. In addition to athletics, Leighton’s Leadership experience includes volunteering for Forefront Suicide Prevention in Seattle, Washington.
Ethan Synstelien – MSA
Ethan studied Finance at Anderson University majoring in Financial Economics and minoring in Mathematics. He maintained Dean’s List honors during all semesters of his undergraduate studies. He currently serves as a Reserve Officer in Training Corp Cadet for the United States Army, and South Carolina National Guard Officer in Training for the United States Army National Guard. Additional Leadership experience includes serving as Executive Council Member and Summer Honors Program attendee for the American Enterprise Institute.
Cullen Vita – MSM
Cullen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Integrated Communication Strategies and a double minor in Marketing and Psychology from Wake Forest University. He earned Dean’s List honors during five semesters and gained international experience during a study abroad in Florence, Italy in the fall of 2022. His Leadership experience includes serving as Marketing and Morale Committee member for Wake N’ Shake Dance Marathon, and Social Chair, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Chair, and Athletic Director & Sporting Events Coordinator for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
Myles Weaver – MSBA
Myles earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics and Collateral: Marketing from the University of Tennessee. He earned Dean’s list honors, and gained entrepreneurial experience running his own business, effectively paying college expenses through the successful sale of a developed product. His Leadership experience includes serving as Vice President of Marketing for Business Analytics Society, a member of Diverse Organization of Business Students and a member of the Professional Sales Leadership Program.
