Nick Andersen, Wake Forest Football defensive back and Communications major, represented Wake Forest in February at the 2022 US Air Force Academy Leadership and Character Symposium in Colorado. The conference focused on leadership topics underscoring this year’s theme, Ethics and Respect for Human Dignity. The symposium brings together “distinguished scholars, military leaders, corporate executives and world-class athletes to motivate and equip participants for honorable living and effective leadership.”
After staying in the military setting and participating in the daily activities of the cadets, Andersen said he walked away with a much greater appreciation for their military experience and future opportunities to demonstrate leadership in a global setting.
“The NCLS conference was an amazing experience as I was able to listen and learn from some of the best leaders in the world. These speakers really opened my eyes to various ways of leadership as well as how to conduct myself as a leader.”
“Being a leader is tough and unique. You must be able to react to anything that comes your way by having a strong attitude and knowing what makes each of your team/group members be their best selves.”
