In this “Last Lecture Series: an Evening with Steve Reinemund,” Steve Reinemund, the Executive in Residence, former dean of the School of Business, and retired PepsiCo CEO, reflected on the characteristics that make great leaders including character, competence, commitment, and compassion. Reinemund shared his insights gained through observation during his career in the military, business and higher education.
On Wednesday, December 10, the Wake Forest University Charlotte Center and The Charlotte Observer invited guests to hear from several distinguished women business leaders. This event included a panel discussion entitled “Myths About Female Leadership: It’s Not About Fitting In, It’s About A New Path” and included wisdom and practical leadership ideas.

October 30th, 3:30 pm: Choose Your Snow Day Adventure workshop includes a brief overview of three virtual class technologies available to faculty and then a hands on workshop where faculty will walk away with their own virtual class prepped to launch at a moment’s notice for a snow day.

The Honor System Video Module launched this month to segments of the School of Business graduate program population. The module is designed to reinforce the importance of the honor system and will be incorporated into all academic programs in the business school.
On Wednesday, August 20, 2014, the School of Business welcomed distinguished business leader Rosalind Brewer to speak to graduate program students, faculty, staff and guests. Ms.Brewer, the president and CEO of Sam’s Club, served as the keynote speaker for the new academic year for the business school and offered many insights regarding leadership.
Monday, July 7, the School of Business welcomed 150 students to the 2015 class of the Master of Arts in Management program. As an important part of their first day of orientation, Professor Sean Hannah, Student Services Director, Matt Imboden, and Professor Jim Janke, discussed the honor system within the business school.
On Tuesday, June 24th staff and faculty colleagues of the WFU School of Business gathered for a breakfast to recognize and celebrate its service over the past year, in the spirit of the University’s motto, pro humanitate (“for humanity”) and reflect on the importance of community service.
The Center for Leadership & Character, in partnership with course instructor, Bren Varner, delivered a suite of tools for the MA program’s business capstone simulation course held May 5-9, 2014. These tools included a video module, strategy, leadership, and ethical decision-making lessons, mock media interviews, and interactive debriefs to enhance the elements of leadership and character in the course and put to work all the students have learned in the MA program.
