Wake Forest University welcomed Linda Hudson to the Charlotte Center on June 9th to share insights about the key traits of leadership. Hudson is the CEO of the Cardea Group, and her career in the defense, aerospace and security industries has spanned 42 years.
Wake Forest University and the School of Business were well represented at four service academy leadership conferences in 2106. Five School of Business juniors and seniors attended leadership conferences and symposia at the United States Naval Academy, the United States Air Force Academy, The Citadel, and The United States Military Academy at West Point.
In it’s semi-annual pro-humanitate reflection event, the Center for Leadership and Character invited William C. Hawks, MA ‘16, to share his impactful story of resourcefulness and determination in the face of homelessness and a childhood filled with uncertainty.
The Center for Leadership and Character hosted Bill Powers, chair of the Enron special investigation committee and former president of the University of Texas on March 30. Powers offered students advice on creating a culture of ethical leadership.
Junior Cameron Kane has just returned from the 2016 Naval Academy Leadership Conference (NALC) at the US Naval Academy, Annapolis, Maryland. The annual conference, in its 32nd year, had representation of more than 200 participants from over 45 colleges. Cameron, a finance major with a minor in physics, was recommended by faculty, and selected to attend based on application submission in November.
Six undergraduate business students have been selected to represent Wake Forest at upcoming service academy leadership conferences. The service academy leadership conference program is in its third year, sponsored by the Center for Leadership and Character.
The Wake Forest ethics and leadership debate team, which is sponsored by the Center for Leadership and Character, competed this weekend in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Ethics Bowl and captured the top prize.

October saw a Habitat wall build on campus as well as several opportunities to engage with CEO of Habitat for Humanity International, Jonathan Reckford.
